Margueritte Rossi joined the EXTRA team in May 2003. Born and raised in Cairns, Margueritte graduated with a distinction from Queensland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Business in 1997.
Her television journalism career began in 1997 with WIN Television in Rockhampton where she had the dual role of reporter and producer. Margueritte then spent the next few years travelling the state with the WIN network, working also in Toowoomba and the Sunshine Coast. During those years, she reported on everything from union protests in western Queensland coal mines, to the devastating Sunshine Coast floods of 1999.
In 1999 Margueritte moved to National Nine News' Gold Coast Bureau as a senior reporter. While reporting on Court and Council stories she also filled the role of part-time producer on the news bulletin and Gold Coast Weekend.
Now at EXTRA, Margueritte enjoys meeting everyday people with interesting stories. "EXTRA is such a wonderfully unique program, and very much a part of Brisbane" says Margueritte. "I just love doing stories where we give families a helping hand, through buying medical equipment for their sick kids. The difference that you know you're making in these people's lives makes it one of the best jobs going in television."
In her spare time, Margueritte keeps fit by doing everything from rock climbing, to latin dancing. She also plays piano, paints and loves nothing more than going home to her parent's cane farms near Cairns.
